Bring your backyard skills to an SCA sanctioned cookoff and compete for cash, trophies, prizes at a one day event. Most SCA steak cookoffs feature a $1000 first place prize and typically will pay the top ten places in the steak category! The SCA's primary focus is STEAK, but we also conduct ancillary categories to challenge cookers and involve the entire family. Our goal is to create a fun relaxed environment and a fair competition. It's about cooking, not who has the most money.  The promoters of SCA events provide all the steaks, to ensure a level playing field. Our double blind judging process adds to the integrity and the best cook wins. SCA events are family friendly and it's common to see the entire family participating.  We've had husbands and wives create their own teams to compete against each other, even father and sons, and sometimes three generations competing at the same event . Does SCA sanction other types of events? 

• YES, SCA now sanctions other types of events!  We sanction Rib Cookoffs, Wing Cookoffs and Burger Cookoffs.  This gives our promoters the option to do multiple kinds of events in the same year! 

Does someone need to be a member to compete in SCA? 

• NO, anyone can cook in SCA events with the exception of the SCA World Championship, You must be a member to compete at the World Championship!

How do I become a member of SCA?

• To become a member of SCA just hover or click on Join tab on the top of the page and fill out the information.

Do I need to bring my own steaks to the event?

• NO, the steaks for every SCA event are provided by the event promoter to create a level p[laying field.  No outside ribeye steaks are allowed.

What do i need to bring to my first event?

• As a cook you are responsible for bringing everything you will need to prepare your steaks and ancillaries.  (pop up tent, folding table, ice chest, grills, spices etc..)
